Erica Rose (she/her) is an award-winning director with a focus on bold and unapologetic stories. She co-created, executive produced, and directed the Roku Original docuseries “The Lesbian Bar Project.” The series won an Emmy and GLAAD Media Award, and screened at Brand Storytelling at the Sundance Film Festival. Season Two, shot in Germany, premiered on Germany’s largest streamer, RTL+, in 2024. The docuseries has received over 1 billion impressions and has been covered by The New York Times, NBC News, ABC News, CBS, PBS, CNN, The Cut, Reuters, Smithsonian Mag, the Today Show, among many other publications. The Lesbian Bar Project short film was nominated for a Tribeca X prize and was acquired by AMC+/Sundance TV. Her other films have screened at Tribeca, SIFF, Rooftop Films, Iris Prize and Outfest, including LET LIV starring Christine Taylor and CHOICES starring Alysia Reiner. Her writing has been selected to participate in the Outfest Screenwriting Lab, the Middlebury Script Lab, and the Athena Script Lab. She was a finalist for THROUGH HER LENS: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program in both 2018 and 2020. She’s a 2022 grant recipient of the NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre. She’s directed national commercials and branded documentaries for illy Coffee x Kimmelot, Beam Suntory, Jägermeister, TCS New York City Marathon, Parents Mag, and Effen Vodka. She’s directed music videos for Sony Music and others. She’s currently in development for various scripted and unscripted projects. Erica loves stories that are character driven, queer, saucy, and political.
